New Delhi :- Professor Rajan Patel, Honorary Director, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc.) delivered prestigious Dr. Syamasree Gupta Memorial Lecture at the School of Chemistry, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) organized by the Indian Society for Surface Science and Technology (ISSST), Jadhavpur University Kolkata. The ISSST is an organization for the cultivation, interaction and dissemination of knowledge in the field of surface science and technology. This lecture was aimed at promoting Industry-Academia interaction in the country.

The Indian Society for Surface Science and Technology, Jadhavpur University Kolkata and Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) had jointly organized 21th National Conference on Surfactants, Emulsion & Biocolloids (NATCOSEB XXI) from 23 to 25 November, 2023 where Professor Rajan Patel, Honaray Director, CIRBsc. was felicitated. The jury of the committee of learned scientists searches the eminent scientists from all over the country working in the field of surfactants, colloids and micro emulsion on the basis of publications and h index in the area. The name of Professor Rajan Patel was selected for Dr. Syamasree Gupta Memorial award after 3 levels of screening throughout the nation.

The award was given by Professor AB Mandal, President of the Society, to Professor Rajan Patel (Honorary Director, CIRBSc.) with Medal, certificate and cash prize along with Local Hospitality, Travel and Dietary Allowances.

Professor Rajan Patel spoke about the massive infrastructure, research environment provided at JMI and dedicated this award to the hard work of collaborators and the students who have been the main driving force for this prestigious award.
