JMI organizes various programmes to commemorate World Physiotherapy Day

Promoting responsibility and care towards the surroundings, students on the same day, took part in a cleanliness drive, emphasizing the importance of a healthy environment. Dr. Shahid Raza and Dr. Aqsa Mujaddadi supervised the event.

New Delhi :- To mark World Physiotherapy Day, Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences (CPRS), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) hosted a pivotal lecture series focusing on the theme, "Arthritis and the role of Physiotherapists” from 4-6 September, 2023 at FTK-Centre for Information Technology Hall of the university.

At the Sports Complex Jamia Millia Islamia, students showcased their athletic prowess in a Sports Competition under the supervision of Prof. Suraj Kumar and Dr. Shahid Raza. Events ranged from Tug of War and 100m-sprint to Relay Race, Kho Kho, and Volleyball. Md Asif bagged first place in the 100m-sprint, while in Relay Race Falak Syed's team emerged victoriously. The day ended with Kho Kho's exhilarating matches, with Samar Rehan's team clinching the winner title.

CPRS, hosted a comprehensive Quiz Competition on 4th September 2023. The quiz's announcement broadcasted three weeks in advance through brochures, direct interactions, and class groups which witnessed an enthusiastic response of the students. Prof. Zubia Veqar, the Centre's Director, presided over the event, with Dr. Saurabh Sharma adjudicating and Dr. Saima Zaki (PT) moderating the session. Team Domholdt, represented by Hira & Sameer, claimed victory, while team Kendall represented by Kamran Saifi & Nimra Shuaib secured the first runner-up spot. The event concluded with faculty and students actively participating as an audience.

On-spot poster Competition was held on 6th September which celebrated the artistic and informative flair of students on the theme “Arthritis and role of physiotherapists”. Dr. Adila Parveen supervised the smooth conduct of the event. BPT 1st year- Group 1 and BPT 3rd Year – Group 2 grabbed the top positions in their respective categories, MPT 3rd sem (Ortho) team bagged 1st position in among masters.
