New Delhi: Jamia Milia University organized Zikr-ARC (Annual Researchers Confluence), 2023 in a hybrid mode on March 14-15, 2023. The theme of the conference was “Let’s (Dis)Agree to Disagree: Beyond Postmodernism”. It was an initiative of the Department of Sociology of the university.
As per the official press release, fourteen papers were selected. The presenters were from universities JMI, Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIT Bombay, University of Hyderabad,
The University of Delhi, O.P. Jindal Global University, Goa University, and Assam University.
Prof. Manisha T. Pandey, the Head of the Department, made the opening remarks which was followed by an address by the PhD Co-ordinator, Prof. Kulwinder Kaur. The keynote address was given by Prof. Savyasaachi. he talked about the importance of the theme for future research in sociology.
The conference was held in three sessions. The first session had five presentations. It was moderated by Mr. Bhat Khalid Bashir, a Ph.D. scholar. The second session also included five presentations. It was moderated by Mr. Touhid Ahmed, a Ph.D. scholar. The third and final session was held on March 15, 2023. Four speakers made their presentations in this session and It was moderated by Ms. Shakti Shukla, a research scholar.
All the sessions saw insightful academic engagement. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Bhat Khalid Bashir.
