New Delhi :- Jamia Millia Islamia, August 17, 2023 – The intellectual fervor at Jamia Millia Islamia was ignited once again as Quizento, the university's official quiz club, hosted its flagship event, "Aaghaaz'23," marking its third edition. The event took place on Thursday, the 17th of August, at the esteemed FTK-CIT Seminar Hall on campus. Bringing together the brightest minds, this intra-university quiz competition witnessed the participation of around 50 enthusiastic teams.
The event was graced by Professor Dilip Kumar Shakya, Convener of the 'Debate, Literary, Quiz and Fine Arts Club,' and Prof. Mohammed Kamalun Nabi, the driving force behind Quizento. Their presence elevated the occasion, motivating participants to showcase their knowledge and critical thinking abilities.
Favas K, the current convenor of Quizento, took on the role of the quiz master, orchestrating a captivating intellectual showdown. The event unfolded across two intense stages – Prelims and Finals. After rigorous competition, six teams emerged as finalists, including a remarkable lone wolf participant. The finals comprised four rounds of brain-teasing challenges that tested participants' acumen and teamwork.
Securing the top spot were Yasir Abdullah and Nashra Fatima, followed by Thoufeeque Ahammed and Aslah V in second place, and Shalin Chopra along with Zakaria Masud Khan in third place at Aaghaaz'23.
Adding a touch of humor and creativity to the event, the quiz master's presentations, which included memes and interactive elements, fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants, easing tension and enhancing interaction. The triumphant participants were awarded their well-deserved prizes by Manish Makkar, an esteemed alumnus of Quizento, celebrating their dedication to intellectual exploration and academic excellence.
