New Delhi: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) hosted a workshop on “Leveraging Cloud based Technologies for Product Design” in association with Autodesk India on 24th November, 2022. Prof Sabah Khan, Department of Mechanical Engineering, JMI coordinated the workshop.
The workshop which started with a welcome address by Prof M M Hasan, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering aimed at initiating the faculty members on the use of modern tools included in FUSION 360 software for design and analysis of Machine components and structures. Autodesk Fusion 360 is the first 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB tool of its kind, connecting the entire product development process into one cloud-based software.
The Autodesk representative Mr Rajesh Yadav and Mr Raunaq Dua from Curiosity 3D initiated the participant faculty members on use of the software in their individual subjects of specialization for felicitating the classroom teaching. The workshop was attended by teaching faculties from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering and the University Polytechnic.
Each Faculty member was given individual educational licences along with 125 student licences, to guide students in advancing their engineering and manufacturing skills. This will also help in centralizing and managing assignments and projects delivered by the students enrolled in their subjects.
The Workshop culminated with a vote of thanks by Prof Sabah Khan.
