JMI organises five day Administrative Capacity Building Programme

:- The objective of the training programme was to enhance the administrative acumen of the faculty members and administrative officers

 

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized a five-day Administrative Capacity Building Programme in association with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) for senior faculty members and non-teaching officials of the university at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (UGC-HRDC), JMI from June 20 to 24, 2022.

The objective of the training programme was to enhance the administrative acumen of the faculty members and administrative officers so that university governance could be made more efficient and effective.

In her inaugural address JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar highlighted the relevance of the programme for the university teachers and officers. She said that teachers are good in academics but this kind of capacity building programme, organized for the first time in JMI, will increase their ability to take up administrative and leadership roles. 

During the five-day programme experts such as; Mr. Ranjan Kumar, Prof. L.R. Agarwal, Mr. Arun Gaur, Mr. K.K. Pant, Mr. Rajeev K. Jha from ISTM interacted with participants on topics such as disciplinary proceedings, conduct of enquiries and penalties, RTI, service rules, procurement procedure, legal matters, etc.

ISTM, a premiere institution under the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India has been entrusted with the task of providing training and capacity building of officers in the Central government and officials coming on deputation to Central government. It is the leading institute in the areas of Training of Trainers and conducts national and international Training of Trainers courses. Besides probationers of various organized services, like that of the IAS, IES, IFS and ICLS attend the training programmes at ISTM.
