JMI organises ANIMELA A Festival of Artistic Diversity

The festival was attended by around 700 art enthusiasts, students, and professionals from the creative industry on both the days, making it a vibrant and dynamic event.

New Delhi. : The Semester III students of M.A. Visual Effects and Animation, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre(AJKMCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized “ANIMELA, a festival of artistic diversities”, on February 22nd and 23rd, 2023 at the M. F. Hussain Art Gallery of the university. The festival was attended by around 700 art enthusiasts, students, and professionals from the creative industry on both the days, making it a vibrant and dynamic event. 

ANIMELA’23 was a platform for artists, filmmakers, animators, and storytellers to showcase their creativity and diversity through various forms of art. The festival aimed to provide a unique experience to the audience by displaying a wide range of artworks, including paintings, photographs, installations, short films, and animations.

The festival featured a diverse range of art forms, including traditional and contemporary forms of visual art, animation, and visual effects, hence the tagline, "a festival of artistic diversities". The event provided an opportunity for the participants to interact with other artists and showcase their talent to a larger audience.

The festival also hosted workshops and panel discussions to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge among the artists and the audience.Mr. Fardan Khan and Ms. Opal Maheshwari were the coordinators of Animela.  

The festival was inaugurated by Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, Dean Faculty of Engineering and technology and Prof. M Kasim Director, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre). The event was carried out under the guidance of Dharmendra Arora (Business and Entrepreneurship Subject Faculty) and Dr Atul Sinha (Sr. Assistant Prof. Animation and Course Coordinator MA Visual Effects and Animation).
