JMI creates E Cell to produce entrepreneurs and startups

:- The cell endeavors to provide all kinds of help to the university students and alumni for taking their startup from the ideation stage to incubation and then into becoming a full-fledged startup

 

New Delhi: The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has established an Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) as a one stop platform for all the university students who want to learn about the intricacies of entrepreneurship ecosystem and take up that journey of becoming an entrepreneur. The cell being run by students of the university aims to conduct various sessions, workshops and guest lectures by renowned and experienced people in the areas of Entrepreneurship and startups. The cell endeavors to provide all kinds of help to the university students and alumni for taking their startup from the ideation stage to incubation and then into becoming a full-fledged startup. For the same the cell is building an investors pool and connecting with various mentors and industry experts to facilitate the resource allocation to the students with the help of CIE JMI.

The functioning of the cell is managed by the core team having the following structure; President: Ayush Kumar Vice- President: Madiha Siddiqui and the heads of all the clubs.

The Cell will also be conducting various HACKATHONS, Toycathons, coding challenges, robotics challenges, and guest lectures by entrepreneurs, investors among others. It also plans to conduct workshops on important areas such as Ideation, Intellectual Property Rights, Patents, Design Thinking, Funding Pitch Making and Business Canvas Model. The cell will also conduct various field trips to startups, incubation centres and all other institutions related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The CIE, JMI is mandated to create an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and to promote a startup culture not only in the university campus and engaging its students in such endeavours but also to promote similar thinking among the community around the campus. The CIE also envisions running various entrepreneurship development programs and short-term courses to promote such a culture.
