JKLU Collaborates with Object Automation Systems to Provide its students access to the Contemporary Global Tech Industry
JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), Jaipur, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Object Automation System Solutions, a California-based Technology Company. This landmark agreement seeks to provide students of JKLU the opportunity to get exposed to the semiconductor technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) domains rapidly evolving in the global technology industry.
The MoU aims to set up a working partnership for a number of areas: lectures by field experts, focused workshops, joint projects, and defined work placements, along with the expected collaboration of industry personnel. This opens up internal access for JKLU students to the US Technology industry, supplying a form of global exposure that almost all students in the Rajasthan Engineering ecosystem avoid during their professional studies.
The partnership seeks to eliminate a major gap in the education of Indian engineers. Students graduate with a solid foundation in domain theory but very little of the work that employers in the Semiconductor design and AI industries expect. This MoU seeks to address that challenge and provide JKLU students with the experience in a tangible, integrated approach.
VLSI, Chip Design, and Internship Opportunities at the Core of the Partnership
This partnership's most explicit benefit for both current and future JKLU students is the inclusion of VLSI and chip design, which are the two most rapidly growing specialisations in the global electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industries. India's semiconductor industry is rapidly expanding due to new government-backed investments, and skills in chip design are rapidly making engineering graduates the most sought-after in both the national and international job markets.
The MoU allows JKLU students to participate in internships and joint projects in areas of advanced technologies in which Object Automation System Solutions is engaged. These are not peripheral projects in the academic curriculum. Instead, they are designed to be supplements to students' coursework, allowing them to work on actual industry problems instead of theoretical case studies.
This partnership also includes the development of faculty members. Subject matter experts and specialised training programs will be offered to the faculty, thereby elevating the teaching of advanced technologies. Faculty members, who are in touch with up-to-date industry practices, will, in turn, provide advanced teaching to students. For a university that aims to be a pioneer in education with a focus on innovations, this dimension of the MoU has long-term significance for the institution, rather than the short-term benefits for the students.
Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, Automobiles, Banking, and Bioinformatics:
Besides VLSI and semiconductor chip design, the JKLU and Object Automation System Solutions partnership covers different areas of high-growth potential in the field of artificial intelligence. Students will be equipped to work on various applications of AI in healthcare, bioinformatics, automobiles, banking, and many more. These are field areas where AI is burgeoning, and professionals are in high demand and low supply.
These areas have been chosen intentionally. The partnership is designed this way so students of different interests and career objectives have opportunities to enter different fields. A student interested in Health Technology has a different career pathway from a student interested in Financial Technology or Automotive AI, as the AI focus area in Banking, Finance, and Bioinformatics also has diverse applications.
It is also agreed by both parties that they will work together to create a new design and structure of teaching modules. There are other opportunities created by the partnership to co-host events like conferences, symposia, workshops, and continuing education activities at the international level. These activities will provide students of JKLU opportunities to meet diverse professionals in technology abroad, enabling students to create and extend their network.
Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina on the Vision Behind the Partnership
Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina, JKLU's Vice Chancellor, addressed the aspirations of the partnership while the university leadership, faculty members, and members of Object Automation System Solutions were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
"As part of innovating education and collaboration initiatives, and in line with the Object Automation System Solutions partnership, JKLU's students will benefit from global access, advanced AI infrastructure, and automation systems,” remarked Dr Chellaboina. “This partnership offers students at JKLU the opportunity to be at the forefront of automation and systems integration, thereby placing JKLU at the global level in educating students on the future of technology and industry across the world.”
Through interdisciplinary programmes in design, engineering, and management, JKLU has always placed itself at the forefront of academic excellence and involvement with industry. For the students who are already at JSKU and also those who are thinking of coming to JKLU for their education, the MoU signed with Object Automation System Solutions brings a globally aligned and advanced engineering education component to the education experience at JKLU.
