Jiwaji University to Host National Seminar on Indian Knowledge Systems in Geology and Geo Heritage Management

Two-day national seminar in Gwalior to explore the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems with modern geoscience and sustainable geo-heritage management.

Gwalior: Jiwaji University, Gwalior, will organise a two-day National Seminar on Indian Knowledge System in Geology & Management of Geo-Heritage Sites of Madhya Pradesh on 25–26 February 2026 at Galav Sabhagar, the university campus.

As highlighted in the brochure, the seminar aims to examine the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in geology and integrate traditional practices with modern conservation strategies.

The seminar will focus on themes including geo-heritage identification and documentation in Madhya Pradesh, sustainable management of geoparks, geo-conservation, indigenous knowledge in resource management, geo-tourism, and environmental education.

Original research papers (maximum 5,000 words) in English or Hindi were invited and selected papers will be published in an edited volume with ISBN.

The event is sponsored by PM-USHA and organised by the School of Studies in Earth Science, Jiwaji University.
