New Delhi, February 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results and NTA scores for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) today. The examination was conducted in January 2026 across India and abroad in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 examination was held on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2026, across 658 examination centres in 326 cities, including 15 international cities. A total of 13,55,293 candidates registered for the examination, out of which 13,04,653 candidates appeared, recording an impressive 96.26% attendance rate.
Multilingual & Global Examination
The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, ensuring wider accessibility for students across the country.
Internationally, the exam was conducted in cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha, Muscat, Riyadh, Manama, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait City, Kathmandu, Lagos, West Java, Washington, and Munich, reflecting the global reach of the JEE Main examination.
Category-wise and Gender-wise Registration Data
According to NTA data, the gender and category-wise distribution of candidates registered for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is as follows:
- Female Candidates: 4,67,817
- Male Candidates: 8,87,476

Paper 2 Results to Be Declared Later
The NTA has clarified that the results for JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 (B.Arch / B.Planning) will be declared at a later date. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA website for further updates.
JEE Main serves as a gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and is also the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, required for admission to the IITs.
