JEE Main 2026 Registration Begins for Session 1; Apply Online at jeemain.nta.nic.in by November 27

NTA has started JEE Main 2026 Session 1 registration at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Apply by November 27. Session 1 exams from January 21–30 and Session 2 in April. Check exam dates, syllabus, and application process here.

New Delhi,  : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 Session 1. Candidates aspiring to pursue undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning can now apply online through the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in   — until November 27, 2025.
 
According to the NTA notification, JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will be conducted from January 21 to 30, 2026, while Session 2 is scheduled for April 1 to 10, 2026. Candidates can appear in one or both sessions, and their best score will be considered for admission and eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026, the qualifying exam for IIT admissions.

  • Last Date for Fee Payment November 27, 2025
  • Announcement of Exam City First week of January 2026
  • Session 1 Exam Dates January 21–30, 2026
  • Session 2 Exam Dates April 1–10, 2026
  • Session 1 Result February 12, 2026
 
The city of examination will be announced in the first week of January 2026, and Session 1 results will be declared on February 12, 2026.
 
How to Apply for JEE Main 2026
 
  • Visit the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • .Click on the “JEE Main 2026 Registration” link.
  • Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Fill in personal, academic, and examination details.
  • Upload scanned documents (photograph and signature).
  • Pay the application fee through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
 
 
 
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
 
JEE Main 2026 will comprise two papers conducted in computer-based mode:
 
  • Paper 1 (BE/BTech): For admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs — includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Paper 2A (BArch): For admission to Architecture programs — includes Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.
  • Paper 2B (BPlanning): For admission to Planning courses — includes Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning-based questions.
Each subject carries 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 10 numerical-type questions, of which 5 must be attempted.
 
  • Correct answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect MCQ: −1 mark
  • Unattempted question: 0 mark

For Paper 1 (BE/BTech):
  • Mathematics – 14 Units
  • Physics – 20 Units
  • Chemistry – 20 Units
For Paper 2A (BArch):
  • Mathematics – 14 Units
  • Aptitude and Drawing Tests as per official notice
For Paper 2B (BPlanning):
  • Mathematics – 14 Units
  • Aptitude – 2 Units
  • Planning – 3 Units

Flexibility in Attempt
JEE Main 2026 offers flexibility with two sessions — January and April. Students can appear in either or both sessions. The best NTA score will be considered for admissions through JoSAA Counselling and for JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility.
