JEE Main 2027 Session 1 Registration Begins: Check Important Dates, Exam Pattern and Application Details
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the registration process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 Session 1. As per the public notice issued on October 24, 2026, eligible candidates can fill out there online application form till November 22, 2026. The exam is scheduled to be held on January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2027.
Joint Entrance Examination is a crucial entrance exam for admission to UG Engineering, Architecture and Planning courses. Candidates appearing for the January session should go through the application schedule, exam pattern and guidelines thoroughly.
How to Apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1?
Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 by visiting the official website of JEE Main. The NTA has clearly mentioned that online application form will be accepted only. Candidates will not be accepted if any other mode is used. Candidates need to fill one application form only. If a candidate fills more than one forms, they may face stringent actions.

JEE Main 2027 Exam Dates and Slot Times
The exam will be conducted in January 2027 on six days i.e., January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2027. Exam timings are as follows:

JEE Main 2027 Exam Pattern (Paper 1, Paper 2A and Paper 2B)
JEE Main is a multi-purpose entrance exam. Paper 1 is for B.E., Paper 2A is for B.Arch and Paper 2B is for B.Planning.
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): The paper will consist of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. There will be 20 questions in Section A and 5 questions in Section B in each subject. The total number of questions will be 75.
- Paper 2A (B.Arch): The paper will consist of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test. The total number of questions in the exam will be 77. The Drawing Test will be an Offline Test on A4 size sheet. Rest will be Computer Based Test.
- Paper 2B (B.Planning): The paper will consist of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning. Total number of questions in the exam will be 100.
Section A in Paper 1 and Paper 2 (Part I) will be Multiple Choice Questions. Section B will be Numerical Value Based Questions. Both sections will have negative marking for wrong answers as declared in NTA notification. Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be conducted in Computer Based mode. However, Paper 2A will be conducted in Offline mode for Drawing Test.
JEE Main 2027 to be Conducted in 13 Languages
JEE Main will be conducted in 13 different languages by NTA namely English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. As per the notification, the exam will be conducted in two sessions for the academic year 2027-28.
Session 1 will be held in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027. Candidates can apply for Session 1 individually. Another chance will be given for applying for Session 2. Paper 1 will be used for admission to B.E./B.Tech in NITs, IIITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutes and other institutes. Paper 1 is also an eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE Advanced which is used for admission in IITs. Paper 2 will be for B.Arch and B.Planning.
