- Candidates who made mistakes in their JEE Main 2027 Session 1 applications can submit a fresh form, even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.
New Delhi. : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification allowing candidates to submit a fresh online application form for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2027 Session 1, even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.
According to the public notice dated October 30, 2026, the decision has been taken after NTA received representations from candidates who made errors while filling out their application forms. The fresh application facility is intended to give candidates another opportunity to submit their details correctly.
JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application: Important Dates
NTA has announced the following deadlines for fresh applications:
-
Fresh application without late fee: November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM
-
Fresh application with late fee: November 23 to November 26, 2026, up to 11:50 PM
-
Application correction window: November 27 to November 29, 2026
Candidates must complete the fresh application process, including fee payment, within the applicable deadline.
Who Can Submit a Fresh JEE Main 2027 Application?
The facility is available to candidates who have made mistakes in their JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application forms. They can submit a fresh application even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee against the earlier form.
NTA has clarified that a new application number will be generated for every fresh form. Candidates must enter all details again and upload the required photograph, signature and documents.
Which Application Form Will Be Considered Valid?
NTA has specified that only the last application form for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the Confirmation Page generated will be considered valid.
If a candidate submits a fresh application but does not complete the fee payment and generate its Confirmation Page, the earlier application for which these steps were completed will remain valid.
Candidates should therefore ensure that their final intended application is successfully submitted and its Confirmation Page is generated.
Important: Earlier Application Fee Will Not Be Refunded
Candidates should carefully consider the financial implications before submitting a fresh application.
NTA has clarified that the examination fee paid against an earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application. Candidates submitting another form will have to pay the applicable examination fee again.
Those who only need to amend certain details have been advised to use the correction facility scheduled from November 27 to November 29, 2026, instead of submitting a fresh application.
Multiple Applications and Unfair Means Rules
NTA has also clarified the rules regarding multiple application numbers.
Submitting multiple application forms does not allow a candidate to appear more than once in the same examination session.
A candidate who appears, or attempts to appear, in the examination using more than one application number will be treated as having used Unfair Means (UFM). Action will be taken according to the JEE Main Information Bulletin.
However, merely holding more than one application number, without appearing in the examination using them, will not be treated as UFM.
What Should JEE Main 2027 Candidates Do?
Candidates who have entered incorrect information should first identify whether they need to submit a completely fresh application or only correct specific details.
Those choosing the fresh application route should re-enter all information carefully, upload the required documents again and complete the fee payment before the relevant deadline. Candidates who only need to make amendments can use the scheduled correction window.
Applicants should read the official NTA notice and follow the instructions available on the JEE Main website.
