IIT Roorkee Announces JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date; Test Scheduled for May 17

Roorkee : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially announced that the JEE Advanced 2026 examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026. As the exclusive gateway to the prestigious IITs, the exam attracts the most talented engineering aspirants from across the country and remains one of India’s most competitive entrance tests.

Only Top 2.5 Lakh JEE Main Candidates Eligible

Eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026 will be restricted to the top 2.5 lakh performers in the JEE Main 2026 examination.
JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions:

  • Session 1: January 21–30, 2026
  • Session 2: April 2–9, 2026

Candidates meeting the cut-off in either session will qualify to register for JEE Advanced.

Exam Structure and Timings

JEE Advanced 2026 will comprise two mandatory papers:

  • Paper 1: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Paper 2: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Both papers must be attempted for the candidate’s result to be considered valid.
