JEE Advanced : Bengaluru boy tops the exam

Bengaluru: The results of the IIT entrance exam, JEE-Advanced 2022, were announced on Sunday. Bengaluru boy R K Shishir secured 314 out of 360 marks. He took the exam from the Bombay zone and emerged as a topper.

Tanishka Kabra from the Delhi zone became the topper among the females securing 277 marks and an all-India rank of 16.

Shishir, a student at Narayana Techno School, Sahakarnagar, secured 56th rank in JEE Main at the national level. He had also become the 4th topper in the KCET engineering stream and secured first rank in B. Pharma.

Shishir aspired to join IIT-Bombay and pursue computer science engineering.

The exam had over 1.5lakh candidates with over 40,000 being qualified.

The scoring is done by calculating the aggregate marks by summing up the marks obtained in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Candidates must satisfy the subject-wise as well as aggregate qualifying marks to be included in the rank list.

JEE-Main, which is the admission test for engineering colleges across the country, is the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced.
