Bengaluru – The Japan Festival – Kala Kabe, hosted at Ekya School Byrathi, brought together the spirit of India-Japan friendship in a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and collaboration. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the India & Japan Children’s Mural Project, created by students from Ekya School, CMR NPS, and Japan, under the artistic direction of acclaimed Japanese muralist Teiko Nishimori, Founder of ICFA Japan.
Unveiled by Hokuto Kaya, Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru, the event saw participation from dignitaries including Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy, Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Shri Jayadeep KR Reddy, and Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy, who emphasized the mural's lasting role in inspiring cultural awareness and creativity.
Marking her first mural project in India, Nishimori expressed her joy at the collaboration, saying, “Because of the friendship between Japanese and Indian students, we were able to finish this beautiful mural. I hope to continue this friendship and create more art together in the future.”
Organized by Miho Sakata Malhan, Founder of Muse Creation, the day featured Origami and Haiku workshops, a Japanese Tea Ceremony, student art displays, and the Muse Charity Bazaar, promoting sustainable goods and culinary delights.
The festival underscored how art and education can bridge cultural boundaries, leaving attendees inspired by the message of unity, peace, and shared creativity.
