New Delhi. :  Jamia Alumni Connect (JAC) organized an Alumni Meet & Dinner on the occasion of the 103^rd Foundation Day of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI)  at the Nehru Guest House of the university.  JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma akhtar (Padma Shri) was the Chief Guest of the function.  Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eqbal Hussain and notable alumni of the university Dr. Hanif Qureshi (IPS), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, GoI,  Dr Farhat Azad, Principal Scientist, Transportation, Planning and Environmental Division, CSIR-CRRI, Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI, Mr Faisal Beg, the India Country Director, Universityof British Columbia and Mr Samarth Pathak, Communications Officer, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) were the Guests of Honor of the function.   

Professor-in-charge of JAC, Prof. Mansaf Alam welcomed the Chief Guest, Guests of Honor and all alumni. In his address, he requested all alumni to help in the development of the university by sponsoring the infrastructure projects like classrooms, hostels, labbs etc. or may give their invaluable advice.

The alumni meet was very successful as more than 400 alumni from Delhi and NCR attended it on a very short notice. In their individual introduction session, they shared their experiences, memories of Jamia, and present aspirations. They also expressed their willingness to help and give their cooperation for the betterment of their alma mater.

JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar in her address said we will strengthen the alumni connect cell in future. She requested all alumni to establish a local chapter of JAC wherever possible and connect the alumni from their workplace and society.

JAC Team headed by Professor-in-charge, Prof. Mansaf Alam and Deputy Coordinators Dr. Aeram Khan, Dr. Mohd Abid and Dr. Abrar Ahmad with the assistance of interns & volunteers worked hard to successfully organize the program. 

The Program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Abrar Ahmad, Deputy Coordinator, JAC which was followed by singing of the National Anthem by the gathering and Annual Dinner 2023.
