The Joint Admission Committee, Chandigarh have officially released the Round 1 seat allotment result for 2026. This news bring a lot of clarity for candidates who was waiting for engineering and architecture admissions. The complete list is now uploaded on the official website which is jacchd.admissions.nic.in. All candidates can log in and view their current status.
This first round of allocation is done completely on the basis of JEE Main 2026 scores, reservation categories, and the choices that candidates locked earlier. The authorities have strictly told that no separate entrance test is conducted for these admissions. Both local and outside students can check what branch or college they got.
This year, the competition was quite tough and many students were eagerly looking for this layout. The portal link is now fully active for everyone. Candidates needs to keep their JEE Main login details ready so they can check the result smoothly without any error.
Next Steps for Allotted Candidates :
Getting a seat in this first list is just the initial step for the applicants. Now, the candidates who have got a seat will have to do some very mandatory things online. The main work is to pay the seat acceptance fee and give their willingness option. The last date to finish this complete task is July 13, 2026.
If any candidate do not pay the fee before the last date, their seat will be canceled immediately. That student will also be removed from the next normal rounds of counselling. The seat acceptance fee is fixed at ₹40,000 for all categories, which must be paid online through credit card, debit card, or net banking systems.
After the fee payment, candidates have to choose between options like Freeze, Float, or Slide. If you are totally satisfied with the college and branch, you can select Freeze. If you want a better option in the next round, you must select the Float option.
Details of Participating Institutes :
The JAC Chandigarh counselling is done for admission into very top engineering and architecture colleges of the Union Territory. These colleges have a very good name and thousands of students apply every year for their technical courses. This allotment includes seats in B.E., B.Arch, and Integrated B.E. programmes.
The main colleges that comes under this framework are University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) and Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology. Other colleges is Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) and Chandigarh College of Architecture for the architecture students.
Every college have a fixed number of seats, and the cutoff changes according to the branch demands. For example, Computer Science and Electronics branch usually closes very early because most students wants these options only. The exact closing ranks will be clear soon on the website portal.
Rules for Seat Withdrawal :
There is also a special rule for those candidates who want to leave their seat after the first round. The administration have given a small window for online withdrawal on July 14, 2026. If a student feel that they got a better seat somewhere else, they can formally take back their admission.
The process of withdrawal must be done through the candidate portal only. No emails or offline letters will be accepted by the office team. If you miss the withdrawal date, then getting a refund of the fee money can become very difficult and complicated later.
Candidates who did not get any seat in this round does not need to worry. They automatically go to the next round of counselling. They can also change or modify their choice filling list when the portal opens again for the next phase.
Upcoming Dates for Round 2 :
The Joint Admission Committee have already shared the timeline for the upcoming second round. As per the official plan, the Round 2 choice filling and locking process will start from July 15 and it will continue till July 17, 2026. Students can change their preferences during this time.
The seat allotment result for the second round will be announced on July 18, 2026, after 8 PM in the evening. After that, again a new window will open for fee payment and verification process. The whole system will run online so that candidates from other states can also participate easily.
The authorities have advised that candidates should keep visiting the portal daily for any sudden change or updates. This year, three regular rounds will be conducted, along with a special round and a spot round at the very end to fill the empty seats.
