JAC Chandigarh Issues New Guidelines for Physical Reporting After Spot Round Outcome

A crucial official notification was released today by the Joint Admission Committee, Chandigarh on August 14, 2026 regarding new guidelines for engineering and architecture seats. This follows the announcement of the Spot Round allotment outcome on August 13, 2026. Students upgrading or getting a new seat allocation in the final round are requested to complete their physical reporting formalities. The committee has made it clear that physical reporting is mandatory to confirm final admissions. Interested candidates can view their allotment status on the admission portal jacchd.admissions.nic.in. They are also requested to go through the new reporting guidelines issued by the committee to avoid any discrepancies during verification.

Institutions Involved and Reporting Timeline -

As per the latest guidelines issued today by JAC Chandigarh, all selected students are required to report at their respective allotted institutes on 18 th August 2026. The following 5 institutes are taking part in this round of admissions:

  • UIET Panjab University: University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Main Campus, Chandigarh.
  • CCET: Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
  • UICET: Dr. SSBU University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, PU, Chandigarh.
  • PUSSGRC Hoshiarpur: Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur.
  • CCA: Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh.

All students must arrive at their respective campus by the due date as no extension will be provided on any grounds.

Documents Necessary for Physical Verification -

To ensure smooth reporting formalities and avoid any discrepancies, JAC Chandigarh has issued a guideline asking students to prepare all original documents and 2 sets of self-attested copies in advance. The list of documents needed for verification includes:

  • JEE Main Scorecard: The score card of the JEE Main 2026 examination.
  • Educational Marksheets: The 10 th mark sheet or birth certificate for age proof and 12 th mark sheet.
  • Category Certificates: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD certificates in case of seat allocation under these categories.
  • Seat Allotment Letter: The printed provisional seat allotment letter obtained from the candidate’s login portal.
  • Identity Proof: Photo ID proof issued by the government like Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving Licence, etc.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate: Original medical fitness certificate from an authorized government medical practitioner.

Payment Receipts and Fee Submission Guidelines -

Along with original documents and their copies, students are also required to bring all transaction receipts of their payments made for the engineering and architecture admissions. Candidates who have already submitted their participation fee for the Spot Round or those who have booked a seat acceptance need to present their payment proof. As per the latest guidelines, candidates need to settle all outstanding institute fees and tuition charges on the day of reporting to confirm their provisional seat. All institutes have different fee structures. Hence, students are suggested to check their allotted institute’s payment rules on the admission portal beforehand. Candidates must have extra cash or online banking facilities handy to clear the balance fees at the institute counters. In case a candidate’s outstanding balance remains unpaid till the due date, their seat allotment might get canceled automatically.

Important Guidelines for All Candidate Categories -

The Joint Admission Committee has issued a few important guidelines for all candidates. First and foremost, only the candidate can appear for the document verification; parents or guardians cannot come in their place. Candidates who had already got their seat allotment in the earlier rounds do not need to resubmit all documents. However, they need to present their previous allotment receipt and the new upgraded allotment letter. Also, students who fail to appear physically for the document verification at their respective allotted institutes on 18 th August 2026 will be marked absent, and their seats will be declared vacant. The committee has requested all outside state candidates to reach Chandigarh and Hoshiarpur well in advance to avoid any travel-related complications.
