IPU MA Economics Counselling 2026 on June 30, Seat Allotment Same Day

Offline counselling for MA (Economics) admissions will be held for the first time at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University on June 30 at the Dwarka campus. Interested candidates are invited to participate in the process. On the same day, documents will be verified, and seats will be allotted based on merit.

New Delhi, June 23: For those aiming to pursue a Master of Arts (Economics) degree at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), mark June 30. GGSIPU announced that the first round of offline counselling for the 2026-27 academic session will take place at the university’s Dwarka campus. This counselling initiative is expected to direct eligible students to receive admission, as allotment of seats will occur after the verification of documents and merit listing. According to the university, all candidates who cleared the entrance exam for the program will be able to participate in the counselling process. GGSIPU officials requested that candidates bring all required documents to preempt delays.

For many, the counselling session is the final step to enter the highly competitive postgraduate economics program. Candidates must also bring a Bank Draft of Rs. 96,000, made out to the Registrar, GGSIPU, along with four Passport Size Photos, the CET Admit Card, Rank Card, Online Application, Date of Birth Certificate, and Transcripts. GGSIPU has informed candidates that allotment of seats may be cancelled during the counselling process, up to July 7. This allows students the option to pursue other opportunities if they so choose. The MA (Economics) Program, under Program Code 162, has 80 seats allocated. 60 seats are at the University Campus, and 20 are at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), an institution allied to GGSIP University.

The admission rush is about to begin with the other Universities, and students and parents are advised to watch out for the latest news on the counseling and admission schedules. It is advised to keep all the documents ready and ensure the eligibility requirements are met to avoid last-minute hassles.
