New Delhi, July 5: For the second year in a row, the University School of Design and Innovation (USDI) of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) participated in South Asia's largest toy fair, the 17th Toy Biz International B2B Exhibition, showcasing the innovative toy ideas designed by its students. Held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, July 4 - 7, 2026, the exhibition was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal.
USDI Showcases Student Innovation at South Asia's Largest Toy Fair
The Toy Association of India invited the University School of Design and Innovation (USDI) to show the innovative toy design work of its students. USDI exhibited over 20 innovative toy design ideas, which were further developed by the students into low-fidelity prototypes using available resources and faculty guidance. The displays were appreciated by the fair attendees, professionals, and various dignitaries for their innovative design and displays.

While at the USDI pavilion, Shri Piyush Goyal met with students and talked about their creative and unconventional ideas.His positive feedback and supportive comments were valuable motivation for the young innovators at the exhibition.
Vice Chancellor's Vision Ensures International Engagement
USDI's involvement with the international exhibition is attributed to the continued support and vision of Vice Chancellor Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, who has facilitated the School's involvement in the exhibition for the second year in a row. The ongoing support has reinforced the school's dedication to instilling innovation, and design engagement both nationally and internationally.
Design-Led Innovation is Prof Kaur's Key Focus
Prof. Arvinder Kaur, Dean of both the University School of Design and Innovation (USDI) and the University School of Automation and Robotics (USAR), engaged extensively with members of the exhibition's toy fraternity. The University's focus on design-led innovation, collaborative learning, and industry-academic partnerships was the focus of her interactions. The University Participation was facilitated by Dr. Bindoo Ranjan of USDI and was a result of the collaboration of the faculty, students, and the Toy Association of India.

The University believes that India's toy industry will benefit from design innovation and become creative, inclusive, and experiential in nature while embracing entrepreneurship, research, and self-reliance.
