New Delhi: The Ministry of Education under the National Education Policy encourages the involvement of NCC/NSS in the curriculum.
The National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 under the agies of Ministry of Defence, State Government may encourages the opening of NCC wings in their Secondary and Higher Secondary schools, including those located in tribal dominated areas.
Central Board of Education (CBSE) in this view has offered NCC as an optional subject in classes IX-XII in those schools which offers NCC and it is managed by the Directorate of NCC under the Ministry of Defence.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti as per the provisions and policy issued by Director General, NCC, Ministry of Defence has already started the NCC/NSS education in their schools.
Smt. Annpurna Devi, Minister of State Education has today given this information in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
