CUH Organizes Refresher Course on Interdisciplinary Life Sciences

The course aims to enhance faculty expertise and promote collaborative research across biological, physical, and computational sciences.

Haryana: The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, is conducting an online Refresher Course on “Interdisciplinary Life Sciences” under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP). The course, which will run until 26 July 2025, has attracted 101
faculty members from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across 17 states of India.Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of CUH, inaugurated the programme and emphasized the significance of the government’s initiatives under the National Education Policy (NEP). He highlighted the importance of flexibility in learning, promotion of multidisciplinary approaches, fostering entrepreneurship, and encouraging interdisciplinary research. He also shed light on the Government of India’s Bio-E3 policy, underlining the critical role of bioscientists in its successful implementation.

Prof. Pramod Kumar, Director, MMTTC and Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director extended a warm welcome to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and the participants. Prof. Surender Singh, Programme Coordinator introduced the course content and shared that the curriculum includes cutting-edge topics such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, functional foods and nutraceuticals, and gene editing. He noted that the course aims to familiarize educators with the latest tools and techniques, enabling them to integrate these advancements into their own research practices. He further informed that renowned experts from across the country will deliver lectures on relevant themes throughout the programme. At the end of the session, Dr. Anita Kumari, coordinator of the programme, expressed gratitude to all participants.
