Shiv Nadar University Chennai Hosts Inaugural HR Conclave ‘Parichay’ to Bridge Industry–Academia Gap

Shiv Nadar University Chennai successfully hosted its inaugural HR Conclave, Parichay – Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future of Workforce, bringing together leaders from over 20 reputed organizations. The conclave focused on aligning academic curricula with evolving industry needs, especially in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

Chennai - Shiv Nadar University Chennai, the first State Private University legislated by the Government of Tamil Nadu in nine years and a flagship initiative of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, successfully hosted its first-ever HR Conclave titled “Parichay – Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future of Workforce.” The conclave was organised with a focus on the University’s Commerce and Economics domains.

 
The event brought together representatives from over 20 leading organizations, including L&T Finance, Jio, TimesPro, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited, APAC Financial Services, Welspun, Tietoevry, Modern India Limited, SRF Capital Studio, Marmore MENA Intelligence, Volvo, UPS India Technology Center, Ziffity Solutions, NTT Data, and GWFM, among others.
 
Industry leaders at the conclave collectively emphasized that while Artificial Intelligence will increasingly support human work, it cannot fully replace the human element in the workplace. The discussions highlighted the importance of adaptability, critical thinking, and continuous skill development for future-ready graduates.
Welcoming the delegates, Prof. Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University Chennai, presented an overview of the institution and invited industry leaders to explore collaborative opportunities. He reiterated the University’s commitment to academic excellence and its focus on forging strategic partnerships that contribute to innovative curriculum design, collaborative research, and enhanced career opportunities for students.
 
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Ashwin Ravindranath, Partner at Ernst & Young, shared EY’s positive experience with students recruited from Shiv Nadar University Chennai. He encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skill sets to remain relevant in a rapidly changing job market.

The event was attended by Dr. N. Nallusamy, Registrar, along with Heads of Departments, faculty members from Commerce and Economics, staff, and students, making it a meaningful platform for dialogue between academia and industry.
