New Delhi: Indian National Science Academy has started the nomination for the INSA Teachers Award of year 2022.

Indian National Science Academy has started the nomination process for the INSA Teachers Award 2022. The academy has instituted this Award to recognize and value excellence and high level of teaching in Indian Universities and Institutions. The award aims to recognize and provide honour to the teachers who have provided guidance, inspiration and mentored students to take up their career in Science and Technology. All the disciplines of Science and Technology including Medical and Engineering Science come under purview of this award.

The maximum number of award is 15. The awardees shall receive a scroll, a cash award of Rs.50, 000/- and a onetime book grant of Rs. 20,000/- .

The nominees for the INSA should be a teaching or have taught in India, with at least 15 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in any Indian College/University /Institution. Any teacher below the age of 55 years, as on December 31, 2021 shall be eligible for being nominated. 

A teacher may nominated by Fellows of INSA, IASc, NASI, Principal of a College, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Director of an Institution, a colleague or by a former student who is associated with an academic/R&D Institution. The nominators may forward only one nomination in a year. 

The last date for the receipt of the nominations is 30th April, 2022. The nominees can visit the www.insaindia.res.in for the further details and nomination proforma.
