Indian Institute of Astrophysics hosting 14 event webinars from February 26 to 28 for National Science Day

:- Officials said events include an art competition, two astronomy quiz rounds, a space speech contest, a virtual tour of the Indian Astronomical Observatory based in Ladakh, a discussion on astronomy career paths for students and a talk from the IIA’s Prof. Sujan Sengupta on why we do not receive signals from aliens in outer space

Bangalore: The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) in Bangalore is hosting 14 event webinars to mark the celebration of National Science Day. The events will be held from February 26 to February 28, and can be viewed through Zoom or YouTube. Officials said events include an art competition, two astronomy quiz rounds, a space speech contest, a virtual tour of the Indian Astronomical Observatory based in Ladakh, a discussion on astronomy career paths for students and a talk from the IIA’s Prof. Sujan Sengupta on why we do not receive signals from aliens in outer space.
All events, excluding contests, will be livestreamed onto the IIA’s official YouTube channel. The space art contest is open to all school and college students, whereas only students from classes 9 to 12 can participate in the astronomy quiz and the space speech contest is exclusive to college students. All contests require students to register prior to participation or else they will not be able to do so.
