- Focus on expanding Indian curricula schools, student exchanges, and fostering joint start-ups in futuristic sectors
New Delhi/Abu Dhabi: Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, began his two-day UAE visit with a meeting with H.E. Ms. Sara Musallam, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). The discussions focused on expanding India–UAE educational cooperation, supporting Indian curricula schools in the Emirates, and enabling two-way student exchanges from school level upwards. Shri Pradhan lauded ADEK’s role in establishing IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus and strengthening educational ties.
At IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi, Shri Pradhan inaugurated the first-ever overseas Atal Incubation Centre (AIC), calling it a hub for joint start-ups and research ventures in AI, clean energy, healthcare, and other deep-tech areas. He emphasized that the AIC will not only promote innovation but also serve as a gateway for Indian start-ups to Middle East markets.
The Minister also launched B.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in Chemical Engineering and Energy & Sustainability, while interacting with a diverse student community on campus. He praised the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities and vibrant environment, calling it a “lighthouse of the India–UAE knowledge partnership.”
Later in the evening, Shri Pradhan attended the first anniversary celebrations of Symbiosis University’s Dubai campus, commending its role in expanding Indian higher education abroad and fostering academic excellence.
