The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), released by the Ministry of Education, evaluates medical colleges across parameters such as teaching standards, research output, clinical exposure and overall performance.

With exams like NEET-UG determining entry into top medical colleges, competition remains intense every year. The NIRF rankings provide a structured overview of leading institutions, helping students understand which colleges consistently perform well in academics, infrastructure and healthcare training.

According to the latest NIRF rankings, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi holds the No. 1 position with a score of 91.80. It is followed by Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh and Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. The list includes a mix of central institutions, deemed universities and private colleges known for strong medical education and hospital facilities.
