NIRF rankings list India’s top 10 law colleges for 2026 aspirants, with NLSIU Bengaluru securing the first position

The NIRF rankings assess institutions based on key factors such as teaching standards, research output, graduation outcomes, inclusivity and overall academic perception. Over the years, National Law Universities (NLUs) have consistently dominated the rankings, reflecting their strong academic structure and placement records in the legal field.

According to the latest NIRF rankings, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru holds the No. 1 position with a score of 82.97. It is followed by National Law University (NLU), New Delhi and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. The top ten list includes leading NLUs, along with a few central and private institutions known for their legal education programs.
