India’s Higher Education Breaks Records in QS Asia University Rankings 2026
New Delhi. : India has achieved a historic milestone in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, with five IITs, the University of Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) making it to the top 100 universities in Asia.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed this remarkable rise as a reflection of India’s strengthening research ecosystem, growing institutional capacity, and the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
“Glad to see a record increase in the number of Indian universities in the QS Asia University Rankings over the last decade,” PM Modi shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter), celebrating the achievement.
