New Delhi.: SL Suri DAV School, Janakpuri, celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit, bringing together students, teachers, distinguished guests and the school community to honour the nation’s freedom and remember the sacrifices of the brave freedom fighters. The celebration featured a vibrant cultural programme of patriotic songs and dances, creating an atmosphere of pride, unity and love for the country.
The programme witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Major Sourabh Solanki, Dr. Jagriti Dabas, CEO & Founder of ARMS 4 AI, and Sanjay Tuteja, Senior Journalist and Director, Udaan – The Center of Theatre Art and Child Development. The guests were warmly welcomed by Principal Smt. Annu Arora, who expressed her gratitude for their presence and their association with the school community.
The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, in which the distinguished guests and Principal Smt. Annu Arora jointly hoisted the National Flag. As the Tricolour unfurled against the sky, the school campus resonated with patriotic pride and the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere filled with respect, unity and national spirit.
The cultural programme that followed was a vibrant celebration of India's rich heritage and patriotic spirit. Students presented a series of patriotic songs, dances and cultural performances, showcasing their talent and expressing their love for the country. The performances received an enthusiastic response from the audience, with students bringing alive the values of patriotism, unity, courage and sacrifice through music and dance.
A special highlight of the celebration was the presence of Major Sourabh Solanki and Dr. Jagriti Dabas, both of whom are alumni of the school. Their return to their alma mater as distinguished guests made the occasion particularly memorable. Their journey from being students of SL Suri DAV Public School to achieving success in their respective fields served as an inspiring example for the present generation of students.

Dr. Jagriti Dabas, who has established herself as an entrepreneur and technology professional through ARMS 4 AI, encouraged students to embrace innovation, technology and continuous learning. Her journey as an alumna of the school provided students with a real-life example of how education, determination and a willingness to explore new opportunities can help young people achieve their ambitions.
Sanjay Tuteja, Senior Journalist and Director of Udaan – The Center of Theatre Art and Child Development, also interacted with the students and motivated them to recognise their individual talents and develop confidence through education, creativity and participation in cultural activities. He highlighted the importance of nurturing young minds and providing children with opportunities to express themselves through education and the arts.
Principal Smt. Annu Arora welcomed the guests and appreciated their valuable contribution to the Independence Day celebrations.
