Roorkee : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the launch of its Advanced Certificate Programme in Quantum Computing: Algorithms and AI/ML, designed to prepare professionals for the rapidly advancing quantum era. Offered through the Continuing Education Centre (CEC), IIT Roorkee, in collaboration with TimesPro, the 6.5-month online programme bridges the gap between quantum theory and practical deployment.

The inaugural batch aims to help learners develop expertise in quantum algorithms, secure communication protocols, and quantum machine learning (QML). Participants will gain hands-on experience with Qiskit, PennyLane, and IBM Quantum Systems, mastering coding, simulation, and benchmarking of quantum algorithms.

Comprehensive, Industry-Focused Curriculum

The programme integrates the fundamentals of quantum computing, AI/ML applications, and secure communication into a single curriculum. Learners will explore:

  • Quantum internet protocols and QKD (Quantum Key Distribution)
  • Teleportation and cryptography concepts
  • Quantum algorithms such as Shor’s, Grover’s, and Simon’s
  • Quantum Machine Learning models like QSVMs, QNNs, and Quantum GANs

They will also apply these concepts to real-world domains such as finance, healthcare, drug discovery, image classification, and optimization.

Spanning five key modules, the course includes over 300 learning hours, case studies, assignments, and a 30-hour Capstone Project. Delivered in a direct-to-device format, it also offers an optional campus immersion at IIT Roorkee.

Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate from CEC, IIT Roorkee.
