Prof. Pant’s pre-convocation message not only appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty, staff and colleagues but also served as an inspiration for the students for their future endeavours. He noted that the degrees earned by the students reflected their hard work, perseverance and ability to tackle complex situations for the welfare of the community. In fact, this message holds significance for the students who will enter the professional world. While a convocation marks the end of an academic journey, it will also begin their journey in their respective fields. The message encourages them to utilise the knowledge and skills gained at IIT Roorkee to contribute to society.
Prof. Pant also requested fellow IIT Roorkee members to extend their support to the graduating students by attending the convocation and showering their blessings upon them.
Inclusive Learning Behind Every Degree
Although the spotlight is on the students graduating, a convocation is as much about recognising the efforts of faculty members, staff, parents and friends who supported the students on their journey. The faculty, in particular, plays a critical role in ensuring that students receive a robust academic foundation and gain the skills to excel in their chosen fields.
At IIT Roorkee, the campus community comes together to facilitate an inclusive learning environment so that students from diverse backgrounds can contribute to and benefit from the opportunities and resources offered by the institute. Apart from the faculty and staff, IIT Roorkee’s various departments offer support to students, such as the free of tuition fee scheme administered by the SCSP office. These measures enable students to learn and grow while being attentive to their financial needs.
