IIT Madras launches new course, JEE not required for admission

Candidates do not need to appear for Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) for this course.

New Delhi: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a new four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) course on Monday at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras). The program is BS Degree in Electronic Systems. 

According to their official website, Anyone who has completed class 12 with Physics and Maths can apply irrespective of age, role, or geographical location. Candidates do not need to appear for Joint Entrance Exam(JEE).

“The new program will cater to the growing demand for skilled graduates in India's Electronic or Embedded Systems domains. It is the second online BS program from #IITMadras, following the @iitm_bs, which has more than 17,000 #Students currently studying. #IITMOnlineDegree,” IIT Madras tweeted through their official Twitter handle @iitmadras.

Earlier, the institute had released the online BS program in Data Science, and a large number of applicants applied for it. The Application process for BS in Electronic Systems is expected to begin soon. Candidates are advised to keep checking their official website at https://study.iitm.ac.in/ for further updates.
