Kharagpur: The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) has organised a three-day course on "Arbitration and Business Disputes in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)". It will be taking place from 8th May to 10th May, 2026 in the online mode. Registrations for the programme have closed as of 5th May, 2026.
The programme is designed to engage with the current trend among both private and inter-governmental bodies of incorporating new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into the field of law, and adopting cyberarbitration as a flexible alternative to the traditional methods of business litigation. It will be dealing with cross-border business disputes; technology-enabled methods of dispute resolution, including AI-assisted arbitration and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR); arbitration on digital commerce disputes, especially AI-powered business environments; and the legal, ethical, and regulatory challenges of AI usage in the legal sphere.
The first day of the course will cover the Foundations of International Arbitration and Business Dispute Resolution. The second day will focus on Technology and Innovation in Arbitration, while the third will highlight Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Arbitration.
Due to the high demand and relevant nature of the subject, the programme has a strategic limited availability of seats. Registrations are expected to have received an enthusiastic response from students and academicians belonging to the fields of Law or Computer Science Engineering, Industry practitioners, government officials, and more such stakeholders.
More information on future technology-adjacent workshops and events organised by/at IIT-KGP is available on the official website of the institution.
