IIT Kanpur Opens Registrations for 'Hack IITK 2024' Global Cybersecurity Hackathon

A Platform for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Tackling Real-World Cybersecurity Challenges



Kanpur, India – C3iHub, the Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Kanpur, has officially launched registrations for its flagship event, Hack IITK 2024. This global cybersecurity hackathon aims to unite enthusiasts, students, startups, and professionals to address pressing cybersecurity challenges. Registrations are open until January 9, 2025.

Event Highlights

Global Collaboration: Organized by C3iHub and powered by Techkriti, the event brings together participants worldwide to solve real-world cybersecurity issues.
Esteemed Partnerships: Supported by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Saptang Labs, NTT DATA, AWS, SecureDApps, Hack2Skill, and Prutor, ensuring a premier competitive experience.
Hybrid Format: Qualification and challenge rounds will be held online, with the Grand Finale taking place at the IIT Kanpur campus in February 2025.

Tracks and Focus Areas


Hack IITK 2024 offers two distinct tracks catering to different participant groups:

Solution Track: Designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students, focusing on IT Security, Cyber Crime, and Web3 Security.
Startup Track: Tailored for aspiring startups, with focus areas including:

  • IT Security
  • Web3.0 Security
  • Cyber Crime
  • Security of AI/ML
  • Automotive Security
  • Mobile Security
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM)


Competition Structure

Solution Track Phases:

  • Qualification Round: Initial screening of participants.
  • Challenge Round: Advanced problem-solving and innovation.
  • Grand Finale: Culmination at IIT Kanpur.

Startup Track Phases:

  • Proposal submissions and solution pitches.
  • Evaluation by a jury of industry experts.
  • Selected startups may receive incubation support at IIT Kanpur to bring solutions to market.


Prize Pool and Opportunities

Hack IITK 2024 features an impressive prize pool worth over ₹30 lakh, including ₹5 lakh in cash prizes and AWS Cloud Credits for winners.
