IIT Kanpur :- The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) has received a donation of USD 200,000 USD (Rs 1,60,00,000) from its US-based alumnus Ashish Karandikar. The alumnus is the brother of Dr Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, former Director and alumnus of IIT Kanpur.

He made the donation to his alma mater to establish three endowed programmes aimed at fostering innovation, excellence, and academic growth within the Electrical Engineering department at IIT Kanpur.
