Hyderabad, Telangana: The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has started accepting applications for its Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internship 2026, a programme that allows students from other institutions to work on research projects with faculty members. The application window is open from February 28 to March 10, 2026 and selected candidates will take part in research activities on campus during the summer period.

The institute plans to offer around 250 internship positions, including 100 seats reserved for women applicants. Participants can choose between three internship durations for one month, one-and-a-half months or two months. Depending on the duration selected, interns will receive a fellowship ranging from ₹7,500 to ₹15,000. The programme is scheduled to take place between May 15 and July 14, 2026, during which students will engage in full-time research work under faculty supervision.

Students eligible to apply include second- and third-year BTech or BDes candidates, first-year MSc or MA students, and students in the later years of integrated BTech–MTech programmes. Applicants are expected to be among the top 20 percent of their class based on academic performance. The selection process involves an initial review of applications followed by online interviews conducted by the respective departments before final offers are issued.
