IIT Goa Launches 7th Convocation Ceremony on 19th July

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa has officially finalized arrangements for its upcoming 7th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place on July 19, 2026, at the Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir in Ponda. The grand academic event will witness the conferment of degrees upon 144 B.Tech, 22 M.Tech, and 22 Ph.D. graduates in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood (Principal Scientific Advisor to the Govt. of India). To maintain protocol, the institute administration has mandated a strict traditional white dress code (kurta-pyjama for men, chudidar-kurta for women) and highlighted that attendance at the physical rehearsal on July 18 is strictly compulsory for students to receive their degrees on stage.

This place is very big and it have a lot of space for many people to sit comfortably together. The management chose this venue because it can handle a huge crowd without any problem. Many big cultural events happens there all the time. The location is also very easy to reach for people coming from outside Goa. Everyone are expecting that the hall will be totally full with teachers, parents, and happy students on July 19.

Why It Matters :
A convocation ceremony is always the most important day in a student life. After studying day and night for four years, students gets this reward. This 7th convocation show how IIT Goa is growing fast year by year. Even though it is a relatively new IIT, but it is creating a great name for itself in the country. The professors and the director is feeling very proud of this batch. For the students, this day marks the end of college life and the start of real professional life. Many students have already got very good jobs in big companies during campus placements this year.


Rules for Everyone :
The college management have issued some very strict rules and guidelines for all the people who is attending the ceremony. Students needs to wear a specific traditional dress code which the institute will provide or tell soon. If anyone does not follow the dress code, they will not be allowed to go on the stage to take the degree. Also, time is very important here. Everyone have to reach the Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir auditorium much before the starting time. The entry gates will close early for security reasons and after that nobody can enter inside the hall.

Final Regular Updates :
Right now, the final rehearsal dates is being decided by the event committee. All the local students is requested to keep checking the official website of IIT Goa daily. The university will upload the final list of degree holders and medal winners very soon on the internet notice board. If there is any spelling mistake in any student name, they should tell the administration section immediately before the printing process starts. This event are going to be a lifetime memory for the 2026 batch, and everyone are hoping for a very successful day.
