Gandhinagar | January 27, 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) hosted a two-week short-term collaborative research visit by faculty members and PhD scholars from Vietnam National University – University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) from January 8 to January 20, 2026, marking an important milestone in the growing IIT–VNU academic partnership.
The visit represented a significant step in translating an existing institutional collaboration into active, outcome-oriented academic engagement, focused on joint research, faculty interaction, and long-term cooperation.
Focused Research Engagement
The visiting delegation worked closely with IIT Gandhinagar faculty and research groups, with interactions primarily centered on the Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering disciplines. The programme included in-depth research discussions, laboratory interactions, and exploration of interdisciplinary approaches to address shared research interests.

Towards Long-Term Academic Cooperation
During the visit, participants exchanged insights on ongoing research projects, experimental practices, and academic methodologies. These discussions helped identify potential avenues for joint research projects, co-authored publications, faculty exchanges, and sustained academic collaboration, reinforcing the practical implementation of the institutional partnership.

Reflecting on the visit, the Vietnamese faculty expressed strong appreciation for IIT Gandhinagar’s academic ecosystem and collaborative research environment.
