IIT Delhi’s 2nd CSR Conclave brought together more than 150 industry, CSR, PSU, government and academic leaders to explore healthcare innovation, research partnerships and technology development.
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) organised its 2nd CSR Conclave on “Emerging Healthcare Technologies & PSU Summit” on September 18, 2026, bringing together more than 150 leaders and professionals from industry, CSR foundations, public sector undertakings (PSUs), government organisations and academia.
Hosted by the Corporate Relations Office, IIT Delhi, the conclave provided a platform to showcase the Institute’s research and technology capabilities, strengthen industry-academia partnerships and explore opportunities for CSR and public sector support for research and innovation addressing national priorities.
IIT Delhi Highlights Emerging Healthcare Research
The first session of the conclave focused on Emerging Healthcare Technologies, highlighting research being undertaken at IIT Delhi in areas including biological sciences, biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence.
Faculty members presented research and technologies related to:
- Therapeutics and vaccines
- Next-generation healthcare technologies
- Artificial intelligence in healthcare
- Diagnostic devices and implants
The Healthcare Technology Showcase featured research aimed at developing affordable, indigenous and scalable solutions for healthcare challenges.
The technologies presented covered advanced diagnostics and medical devices, AI-enabled medical imaging, genomics, automated diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines, antimicrobial therapies, biosimilars, biomanufacturing, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and rehabilitation technologies.
Several technologies showcased at the event are at different stages of development and validation, including prototypes and solutions being evaluated with hospitals and clinical partners.
Healthcare Technologies Showcased
Among the innovations highlighted during the showcase were:
- Raman spectroscopy technology for cancer detection
- A miniaturised colposcope for cervical cancer screening
- An integrated microsurgical irrigation-suction device
- AI platforms for oncology and neurological diagnosis
- Wearable robotic exoskeletons for mobility augmentation
The faculty presentations were followed by a panel discussion on Emerging Healthcare Technologies.
The discussion was moderated by Prof. Akshi Singla, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Delhi. The panel included representatives from the Gates Foundation, GE HealthCare, Wadhwani Innovation Network, L&T Technology Services, Meril Group of Companies and Tata 1mg.
The discussion covered the transition of research from laboratories to real-world applications, the role of artificial intelligence and data in healthcare, regulatory and manufacturing requirements, and the role of CSR funding in supporting early-stage healthcare innovations.
PSU Summit Focuses on Innovation and Nation Building
The second part of the event, titled “PSU Summit – Driving Innovation, Technology & Nation Building,” focused on strengthening IIT Delhi’s engagement with public sector organisations.
Mr. Toko Tatung, Member of Legislative Assembly, Arunachal Pradesh, attended the summit as Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. He also launched IIT Delhi’s Partnership Booklet and Infrastructure Compendium, prepared by the Corporate Relations Office.
The summit also witnessed the exchange of a Letter of Intent between IIT Delhi and the Keyi Panyor Mission Plan 2040, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, for collaboration in research, technology and capacity building.
A Letter of Intent was also exchanged between IIT Delhi and HS Foundation for collaboration in MedTech and biomedical research.
In addition, IIT Delhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Vionix Biosciences to bring together the Institute’s research capabilities and the company’s technological expertise for research aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
PSU Leadership Session
The PSU Leadership Session brought together senior leaders from public sector organisations and institutions, including:
- Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
- Mr. Sajan George, Executive Director, NRLDC, GRID-INDIA
- Mr. Praveer Kumar Agarwal, Executive Director, GAIL
- Mr. Kaushik Singha, Executive Director (Refining Technology), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Mr. Sujay Karmakar, Executive Director (NETRA), NTPC Limited
- Ms. Poonam Mishra, Chief Manager, SBI, IIT Delhi
The session focused on technology adoption, research partnerships and the role of public sector organisations in supporting India's infrastructure, energy security, mobility and broader development priorities.
IIT Delhi Highlights Opportunities for Collaboration
Prof. Arvind K. Nema, Deputy Director (Operations); Prof. Vivek Buwa, Deputy Director (Strategy and Planning); Prof. Ashwini K. Agrawal, Dean (R&D); and Prof. Jayant Jain, Dean (Corporate Relations), welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the participation of industry leaders, CSR professionals, PSU executives and government representatives.
The discussions emphasised opportunities for collaboration with IIT Delhi in areas including healthcare, infrastructure, technology development and other fields of national importance.
The CSR Conclave was supported by partner organisations including Vionix Biosciences, Bharat Electronics Limited, Delhi International Airport Limited, HS Foundation, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Zwick Roell, IR Tech and Wadhwani Innovation Network.
