Selection Process: One Single Test Does It All
IISc's prospectuses are simple in their selection process this time. There are no written exams followed by an interview, but rather, everything rests on one single Job-Oriented Aptitude Test that holds 100 percent weight. The test is planned for July 5, 2026, and, should it happen to be administered in multiple sessions, fairness will be maintained by normalising scores through standard statistical techniques.
The institute has also provided a thorough syllabus with the advertisement, in English, Hindi, and Kannada, so that candidates are able to prepare for this test. Of note, IISc has the right to determine the level of the test and has the right to invite candidates above this level for the next stages. They also have the right to decide not to fill any position, if they so decide.
How to Apply and Next Steps for Candidates
Eligible candidates must apply for the position through the IISc Careers Page located at iisc.ac.in/careers/regular-positions. All applications must be submitted online. Applications submitted in person or through the mail will not be considered for this non-teaching position. Applications must include all mark sheets beginning with Class 10, mark sheets and certificates for all degrees, and all other qualifying certificates to be considered. Applications will be rejected if any documents are missing.
Candidates employed in government departments, PSUs, or other autonomous bodies must include a No Objection Certificate from the employer with the application or, in the alternative, submit an undertaking to provide the certificate during the verification of documents. Applicants under the reserved categories are required to have their certificates in the prescribed formats ready. The closing date for the application, 18 June 2026, is also the date for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, and ex-servicemen for the purposes of this recruitment. Given the closing application date and the scheduled aptitude test, candidates are advised to apply early, to check documents, and to begin preparation.
