Sambalpur, 25th October 2025: In alignment with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur), one of India’s premier management institutions, hosted the 10th edition of its flagship annual business conclave, MARMAGYA 10.0, under the theme “Navigating Businesses in a Multipolar World: Ideas for Viksit Bharat 2047.”

The event marked a milestone in IIM Sambalpur’s journey to inspire students toward developing globally adaptive leadership skills and guiding businesses to align with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The conclave was graced by Abhishek Naidu, Global Head of Operations at Google, as the Chief Guest; Atul Kharate, Chief Operating Officer at Indian Oil Adani Ventures, as the Guest of Honor; and Vardhaman Agarwal, Director at EY, as the Keynote Speaker.

Bringing together students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from across India, MARMAGYA 10.0 reflected IIM Sambalpur’s strong commitment to fostering an Atmanirbhar Bharat through innovation, leadership, and collaboration. Senior representatives from leading organizations such as Google, EY, Indian Oil, Adani Ventures, Aditya Birla Group (UltraTech Cement), HCL Tech, ZOHO, and Cushman & Wakefield participated, reaffirming the conclave’s status as a premier platform for knowledge exchange and business innovation.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, emphasized three models for achieving Viksit Bharat 2047:

  1. Increasing women’s participation in the workforce, as highlighted by Nobel laureate Claudia Goldin (2023).
  2. Building inclusive governance institutions, as advocated by Nobel laureates Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson & James A. Robinson (2024).
  3. Driving innovation and technological transformation, following insights by Nobel laureates Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion & Peter Howitt (2025).

“Marmagya has consistently bridged the gap between academia and industry, offering deep insights, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence,” said Prof. Jaiswal.

Highlighting the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, Abhishek Naidu said,

“AI can empower education in underprivileged communities. IIM Sambalpur deserves praise for being the first IIM to integrate Data Science and AI into its curriculum.”

Atul Kharate remarked,

“In the coming decade, India is set to become the third-largest crude oil processor, supplying petrochemical products globally. Growth in heavy industries and MSMEs is shaping a sustainable, strong economy.”

Vardhaman Agarwal added,

“Marmagya is more than a business conclave—it is a leadership laboratory anchored in Innovation, Integrity, and Inclusiveness. IIM Sambalpur is shaping not just managers, but nation builders.”

This year’s conclave also celebrated IIM Sambalpur’s Curtain Raiser event in Delhi, which launched the Incubation Hub and Alumni Incubation Scheme, aimed at promoting entrepreneurial ventures nationwide. Over the past decade, Marmagya has evolved into a dynamic platform featuring over 26 visionary speakers and 1,000+ participants from diverse fields such as marketing, finance, consulting, operations, and technology—upholding IIM Sambalpur’s core values of Innovation, Integrity, and Inclusiveness.
