IIM Kozhikode Launches 'Ignite' Programme to Empower Grassroots Start Ups and Micro Enterprises

This initiative supports innovative start-ups focusing on technology-driven solutions that empower grassroots businesses, offering funding, mentorship, and essential resources to drive their growth.

 

Kozhikode : The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has introduced the ‘Ignite’ programme to foster growth among India’s micro-enterprises and self-help groups (SHGs). This initiative supports innovative start-ups focusing on technology-driven solutions that empower grassroots businesses, offering funding, mentorship, and essential resources to drive their growth.

The programme aims to uplift underserved communities, foster sustainable development, and strengthen economic resilience by supporting start-ups dedicated to transforming local business landscapes. Applications are open and will close on November 20 for start-ups and organisations aiming to enhance the capabilities of micro-enterprises and SHGs.

Highlighting the goals of Ignite, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode and Chairman of IIM Kozhikode LIVE, noted, “The Ignite programme is a testament to the Institute’s commitment to foster collaboration between innovative start-ups and grassroots micro-enterprises/SHGs. By providing targeted solutions in critical areas such as supply chain management, financial services, and marketing, Ignite aims to help micro-enterprises and SHGs unlock their full potential, driving positive social and economic impact.”
