Bengaluru: The Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Management at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is set to commence its Seminar Series for the Academic Year 2026-2027. Its first session, titled, “Digital Transformation in the AI Era: Lessons from India’s Innovation Ecosystem,” will take place on 20th May, 2026.
The EPGP Seminar Series is a student-driven initiative at IIM-B that hopes to provide its audience real-world domain-specific insights. By inviting reputed professionals to deliver talks related to their fields—which include Finance, Financial Technology (fintech), Consulting, Biotechnology, Human Resources, and Start-up & Venture Capital among others—it aims to make classroom learning applicable and build knowledge on current trends in industry.
The first session will be centred on the growing influence of new digital infrastructure and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) on Indian industries, finance ecosystems and governance. Subjects like the initiation of large-scale digital transformation through the incorporation of AI into infrastructure, finance technology administrative frameworks, alongside the simultaneous preservation of digital trust and data privacy will be explored. The seminar ultimately analyses the ongoing evolution of a data-driven nation’s innovation ecosystem, with a view to balance the transformative advantages of AI with measures to combat its misuse, and promote scalability and inclusivity in the realms of public enterprise, as well as security and confidentiality.
The session is to be led by Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, who currently serves as the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) – Digital Financial Services at the Indian subsidiary of the multinational IT infrastructural services giant, Kyndryl. Having formerly occupied leadership roles with organisations like the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), the National Skill Development Corporation, SpringMedo, and Aadhar, Mr. Ranjan has over 27 years of experience in the domain of sustainable digital ecosystems and technology solutions, particularly in the sectors of finance, healthcare, skill development, and public policy.
The seminar will be conducted at 5:30 P.M. on the IIMB campus.
