Prayagraj: The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) has announced rolling admissions for PhD programmes under the NEP framework for 2026.
The institute is offering PhD admissions in two categories: PhD with Institute/External Fellowship and PhD for Working Professionals, allowing flexibility for both full-time scholars and industry professionals.
According to the official notification, candidates must apply online through the institute’s admission portal and carefully check eligibility criteria mentioned in the annexures. The application fee is ₹500 for General/EWS/OBC candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
The admission process will be conducted in two stages. Stage I consists of a computer-based screening test, while Stage II involves a personal interview. Candidates who have qualified national-level exams such as GATE or NET will be exempted from the screening test.
For working professionals, candidates will be directly shortlisted for the interview stage based on eligibility.
The institute has also announced three cut-off dates for application submission — March 31, July 15, and November 30, 2026, providing multiple opportunities for applicants throughout the year.
Officials stated that the rolling admission system aims to increase accessibility and flexibility in doctoral education, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP).
