Haryana: The Indian Institute of Information Technology Sonepat (IIIT Sonepat) has announced seven faculty vacancies under Advertisement No. IIITS/Estt./Rect./2026/04, dated October 22, 2026. The positions are at the level of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Mathematics.

IIIT Sonepat Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details

As per the recruitment notification, the institute has advertised for 01 post of Associate Professor and 06 posts of Assistant Professor for the following three departments. The institute has stated that the number of vacancies is tentative and may vary.

Four vacancies have been advertised for the general category and two vacancies for SC and one vacancy for ST. No vacancies have been advertised against the OBC and EWS categories. Horizontal reservation for persons with disabilities will be applicable as per notification.

Eligibility Criteria

PhD in the concerned or equivalent field and First class in all the previous degrees (from Bachelors). If the institution doesn’t mention First class then it will be considered as >=60% or 6.5 CGPA out of 10, as per the mentioned rules. Candidates with Engineering background and have a direct PhD (after BTech/BE) can apply if they meet the other conditions.

• For Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay Level 10): PhD in the concerned field. No experience required (as per the table below). Preferably one publication in SCI journal.
• For Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay Level 11): PhD. Minimum 1 year experience in the concerned field. Paper published in SCI journal.
• For Assistant Professor Grade I (Pay Level 12): PhD. Minimum required experience (3 years after PhD/6 years after MTech). As per the table below. Minimum research and academic requirements.
• For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2): PhD. Minimum required experience (as per the table below). Minimum required experience at senior level (minimum required experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent). Minimum research publications and academic contributions.

Preferred fields of study: Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Quantum Computing, Full Stack Development, VLSI, IoT, 5G/6G Communication, Applied Mathematics, Computational Complexity. Please check the concerned field and the eligibility criteria before applying.

Salary and Application Fee

Eligible for regular faculty members. DA, HRA and TA will be applicable as per the institute. The consolidated salary for all the positions is not mentioned in the advertisement. Please check as per the concerned pay level and rules.
