IIC JMI conduct a number of workshops to train students about various intricacies of startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem

New Delhi: Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized a one-day workshop on Problem Solving and Ideation, on Friday 21 February 2022. A number of other events were also organized by IIC-JMI in the last few days to train students about various intricacies of the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The speaker for the session on Problem Solving and Ideation was Ashu Agarwal, Global Founding Member and India Lead at Asia Tech Journal. This insightful workshop not only talked about Problem Solving but also provided far-sighted hands-on experience on Ideation and various stages associated with it. The impactful ambience throughout the workshop was witnessed by the inquisitive audience and their active participation.

IIC-JMI organized a one-day online workshop on Pitching & Linkage of Innovators, on Friday 19 February 2022. The speakers for this session were Zuhaib Khan, a Former Entrepreneur and Investment Banker, and Sachin Gaur, a serial Entrepreneur & Technical Advisor. Both the speakers were alumni of JMI, who conducted the session with great enthusiasm and creativity. Various intricacies of the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem were discussed in the session.

IIC- JMI conducted a one-day online workshop on Design Validation through the various models of design validation on 20 February 2022.  The speakers for the session were Prof. S M Muzakkir, a member of the IIC- JMI and Dr. Mansaf Alam, coordinator of the IIC- JMI.  Prof. SM Muzakkir very effectively used his innate capacity of demonstration, to demonstrate Design Validation through various models. His keen interest in Design of Mechanical Equipment and Product Designing reflected in his speaking. At the same time, Dr Mansaf Alam, the EIC of Journal of Applied Information Technology with his rich experience and knowledge, conveyed his ideas to the audience. The two highly experienced speakers aroused the audience to be more inquisitive and participative.

IIC- JMI organized an online orientation session on “National Innovation and Startup Policy” (NISP), on 18 February 2022. The speaker for this session was Prof Mini Thomas, JMI (Former Director NIT Trichy). The NISP lays down a guiding framework for HEIs and it highlights various important and practical aspects of promoting and supporting innovation, technology commercialization and startups in academic setup.  Prof Mini Thomas, the speaker for the orientation session was the founder Director of the CIE, JMI and her rich experience from IEEE and NIT helped the listeners as she detailed about NISP which can potentially create Innovation pipelines and pathways for Entrepreneurs. The session was a great success with a wide pool of audiences drawn from students and faculty who posed their queries to her and were rewarded with inputs from her.
