IGNOU Invites Applications for Master of Arts (Corporate Social Responsibility) (MACSR)

New Delhi. : The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched Master of Arts (Corporate Social Responsibility) (MACSR) programme from January 2022 session. The MACSR is meant for CSR professionals across India and for graduates / post-graduates interested in pursuing a career as a CSR Professional.

If you are looking for an opportunity to build a career in CSR, you need to first build your capacity as a CSR professional. With the enactment of Companies Act, 2013 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GoI, India became the first country in the world to make CSR mandatory for select categories of companies mandated under the Act. This legislation has created an important opportunity to mobilise resources and build mechanisms to promote inclusive development in the country.

Considering this increasing demand for CSR professionals, IGNOU has stepped in to bridge this gap in the demand for trained CSR professionals by launching a Master of Arts (Corporate Social Responsibility) (MACSR). Giving details of the Programme, Programme Co-ordinators Dr. Nisha Varghese and Prof. P.V.K. Sasidhar said that “MACSR is a very appropriate programme in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode both in terms of content and timing. It provides a unique opportunity for attaining and upgrading the knowledge of the CSR professionals.

The MACSR programme has been designed in such a way to enhance the holistic understanding of CSR by covering various aspects like CSR fundamentals, CSR process and its linkages with development, implementation and handling of projects and programmes, and corporate ethics, governance and conflict resolution.
